Tenorio River Rafting

Are you prepared for an epic adventure? The Tenorio River will test your courage with its class III and IV rapids (irregular and medium waves with complex maneuvers in class III’s fast rapids; intense and powerful yet predictable action in class IV).

This trip is a must for both experienced and new rafters. All participants must be in good physical condition. Don’t forget to bring your swim trunks, comfortable clothes, and rubber-soled shoes which can get wet for the rafting. You’ll also want sunblock, sunglasses with a secure strap and a baseball cap or hat which fits snugly. Lastly, you’ll want a dry clothing and shoes to change into once the trip is complete.

Our meeting point is the Rincon Corobici Restaurant. The trip, which lasts better part of a day, starts around 9:00 a.m. Once the group is assembled, we’ll hit the road and go to the river, located a half-hour from the restaurant (down both paved and dirt roads). Upon arrival at the river, our guides will provide a complete set of safety equipment in excellent condition (lifejackets, helmets, and paddles) and will deliver a river safety talk. The trip down the river lasts approximately 2 hours and includes a snack at the end (fresh fruit, cookies, natural beverages, and water). After the snack we’ll drive back to the restaurant, a little less than an hour away, where a hot, delicious lunch awaits all participants. Restroom and changing facilities are also available.

The Tenorio River offers rafters a variety of fun challenges, including a unique 12-foot drop (class V). It is important to mention that this drop and some of the more challenging rapids may or may not be available depending on the weather and water levels. Further, participants can choose to skip the drop or any portion of the rapids which they feel is beyond their comfort level. The river provides a magical trip, with amazing wildlife and stunning scenery that will take your breath away.
